The Kremlin responded to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s remarks about organizing a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, emphasizing Putin’s openness to engaging with foreign leaders.
Putin’s press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, stated that no preconditions are needed for a dialogue between the two leaders—just mutual political will.
“We see that Mr. Trump is also declaring his readiness to resolve issues through dialogue. We welcome this. However, as before, there are no specific details yet,” Peskov noted.
He added that progress on preparations for the meeting would likely begin after Trump officially assumes the presidency.
Earlier, Trump had announced that he was already working on arranging a meeting with Putin.
