57.3% of Greenlanders expressed support for the idea of joining the United States, while 37.4% opposed the proposal.
These are the results of a survey conducted by the American organization Patriot Polling, published on its website and in reputable outlets such as The Hill.
The survey was conducted among 416 residents of Greenland, which is a territory of Denmark. According to Patriot Polling, the majority of respondents support the idea of joining the U.S. It is important to note that the survey coincided with Donald Trump Jr.’s visit to Greenland. This is the first time that Patriot Polling has conducted research outside of the United States.
In the organization’s press release, it was also reminded that Donald Trump proposed that the U.S. purchase Greenland from Denmark back in 2019 and then reiterated this proposal after his election as president in November.
Currently, Greenland’s population stands at about 56,000 people.
