According to the Henley Passport Index, as of early 2025, the Singaporean passport has become the most powerful in the world.
Its holders can travel to 195 countries without a visa, placing them at the top of the global list. Japanese citizens can also visit 193 countries visa-free, securing second place.
Czechia and Hungary share eighth place, providing their citizens access to 187 countries without a visa. Third place is occupied by the citizens of France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Finland, and South Korea, who can visit 192 countries. The Henley Passport Index is regularly updated by Henley & Partners, and Singaporeans consistently hold the top spot in this ranking.
Countries such as Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway also hold strong positions, with visa-free access to 191 countries. Belgians, New Zealanders, Portuguese, Swiss, and Brits have access to 190 destinations.
Other countries in the top 10 include Greece, Australia, Canada, Poland, Malta, Estonia, the US, and Latvia. At the bottom of the list is the Afghan passport, which provides visa-free access to only 26 countries.
