Hundreds of migrants rush to cross U.S. border before Donald Trump’s inauguration

Hundreds of migrants from Central America are hurrying to cross the U.S. border, fearing stricter immigration policies under the new president.

According to Reuters, journalists spotted a caravan of migrants in southern Mexico, 1,500 kilometers away from the U.S. border. As Donald Trump prepares to take office, he has repeatedly expressed plans to tighten policies on illegal immigration. On his first day as president, he has promised to sign orders aimed at closing the border to undocumented migrants and deporting those already in the country. He places particular emphasis on the deportation of entire families.

In addition, Trump is demanding that Mexico take more decisive measures to stop the flow of migrants within its territory. If it fails to comply, he has threatened to impose high tariffs on Mexican goods, which could significantly harm the country’s economy.

Amid these developments, the flow of migrants seeking to cross the border has only increased. Many are willing to travel long distances and endure dangerous conditions in hopes of achieving their dream of a better life.
