Trump’s team assures that he will “find ways” to keep TikTok available in the U.S.

Mike Waltz, a candidate for the position of national security adviser in the Trump administration, stated that the president-elect intends to “find a way” to keep the TikTok app available in the U.S., despite the threat of its ban.

According to The Hill, Waltz said on Wednesday that after taking office, Trump would take measures to ensure TikTok continues to operate in the U.S. Earlier, The Washington Post reported that Trump was considering various options, including an executive order.

A law signed by President Biden in April requires TikTok to sever ties with its Chinese owner, ByteDance, threatening to ban the platform in the U.S. starting next Sunday.

Last week, the Supreme Court heard arguments on the issue, and judges are likely to support the government’s stance on national security threats due to the app’s ties with China.

Donald Trump recently stated that he sees no reason to abandon TikTok, highlighting its good reach. Media sources reported that China is considering selling TikTok to American billionaire Elon Musk as a way to avoid the app’s ban in the U.S.
