Ahead of his inauguration, Donald Trump made a statement that could raise concerns among U.S. law enforcement agencies.
Speaking before 20,000 supporters at the Capitol One arena, he announced that he plans to release the remaining classified documents regarding the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert F. Kennedy, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. in the coming days.
We will release important documents related not only to the assassination of John F. Kennedy but also to other key events that are of public interest, Trump said.
These remarks are a continuation of his previous statements. During his presidency from 2017 to 2021, Trump partially released documents related to the assassination of Kennedy. However, at that time, he yielded to pressure from the CIA and FBI, and much of the material was not made public, citing national security concerns.
