Media reveal key points of Trump’s inauguration speech

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump will call for a “common sense revolution” in his inaugural address, according to The Wall Street Journal, which reviewed excerpts of his speech.

Trump is expected to emphasize that he enters the White House “with confidence and optimism, believing we are at the dawn of a new and exciting era of national success.”

“A wave of change is sweeping across the nation. Today, I address Americans with a message that it is time to act again with the courage, energy, and vitality of the greatest civilization in history,” the WSJ quotes from the president-elect’s speech notes.

According to sources familiar with the inauguration preparations, Trump’s 2017 inaugural address spoke of “American carnage,” but this year’s speech is expected to be more optimistic. However, there is speculation that Trump may deviate from the prepared script.

Additionally, it is anticipated that the 47th president will forgo the lofty rhetoric of his predecessors, opting instead for a straightforward description of what he sees as the nation’s most pressing problems and his proposed solutions.

On the eve of his inauguration, Trump reiterated his promise to end the war in Ukraine and prevent a third world war. Reports suggest that he has instructed his aides to arrange a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the days following his inauguration.

According to a survey, 46% of Americans believe Trump’s presidency will contribute to greater peace and stability globally, with 88% of his supporters holding this view.
