Newly re-elected President Donald Trump has pledged to release the remaining classified documents related to the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr. within days.
Speaking at a rally-like event in Washington, just before his official return to the White House, Trump made the bold promise to his supporters.
“In the coming days, we will publish the remaining documents related to the murders of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert Kennedy, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,” Trump declared, according to Reuters.
This isn’t the first time Trump has made such a vow. During his initial presidency from 2017 to 2021, he released some JFK-related files but withheld many others, citing “national security” concerns after pressure from the CIA and FBI.
The assassinations of these iconic leaders have long been fertile ground for conspiracy theories. While the official narrative claims Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in JFK’s assassination, public opinion polls reveal that many Americans believe in broader plots, often implicating entities like the CIA.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is now a member of Trump’s administration after endorsing him during the election, has previously accused the CIA of playing a role in his uncle’s death—a claim the agency has outright denied. RFK Jr., initially an independent candidate, secured a key position in the administration after aligning with Trump.
This upcoming document release could reignite debates over these historical tragedies, further fueling speculation and public interest. Whether this move delivers long-sought transparency or stirs more questions remains to be seen.
