Ahead of the elections in Germany, which will take place on February 23, a survey conducted by the Forsa Institute for the RTL and NTV television channels revealed that the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party maintains significant support among the country’s citizens, with a rating of 20%.
The Christian Democratic Union and Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) bloc remains the leader among opposition forces, garnering 30% of the vote. Meanwhile, the Social Democratic Party of Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) has a 16% support rate, while their government partners, the Greens, have 14%.
Interestingly, among the parties that risk failing to overcome the 5% threshold required to enter the Bundestag are the Free Democratic Party (FDP), the “Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance,” and the Left Party, each garnering 3-4%.
The survey was conducted from January 21 to 27 among 2,504 people with a margin of error of no more than 2.5 percentage points.
