In 2024, Lithuania identified more than 700 individuals from Belarus and Russia as threats to national security, with 598 Belarusians and 125 Russians flagged by the Lithuanian Migration Department, as reported by Delfi.
Among the Belarusians, 179 were denied temporary residence permits, while 232 had their permits not extended. Additionally, 175 Belarusian citizens had their residence permits revoked, and three were denied permanent residence. Nine other Belarusians lost their permanent residence status.
For Russian nationals, 35 were not granted temporary residence permits, and 36 had their existing permits not extended. Twenty-four Russian citizens had their temporary residence permits revoked, and 29 lost their status. In a first, 16 Russians were denied permanent residence permits, all of whom are now banned from entering Lithuania.
