A teenager was killed and around forty people sustained minor injuries in a school bus accident in the municipality of Châteaudun, between Le Mans and Orléans, on January 30.
Among the injured were 31 students, but their injuries are not life-threatening. Authorities confirmed that the bus was the only vehicle involved in the crash. Forty firefighters, a mobile medical unit, and psychological support services were dispatched to the scene.
Minister of National Education, Élisabeth Borne, expressed her condolences to the family of the deceased student and offered her support to the injured. She stated that she is closely monitoring the health of the injured and will visit the Émile Zola High School on Monday.
