A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment in Germany for the murder of a nine-year-old girl from Ukraine.
The crime occurred on June 3, 2024, when a 37-year-old German man tracked his victim on her way to school and strangled her. After the murder, he fled the country, but was arrested in Prague 11 days later and extradited to Germany.
The killer had been in a relationship with the girl’s mother, but a few days before the tragedy, the woman ended their connection. The investigation considers the motive to be revenge for the breakup. The accused did not contest the charges and is unlikely to be released early due to the severe nature of the crime.
