Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has been charged with disobedience to police following a protest against Israel at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm last spring.
According to SVT, around 20 people gathered for an unauthorized demonstration on May 29. Police reported that some protesters wore masks, shouted slogans, and expressed their discontent. As a result, almost all participants were detained, and seven of them, including Thunberg, have now been charged with refusing to comply with police orders.
Earlier, in September 2023, Thunberg was detained twice during pro-Palestinian demonstrations. She also protested against the participation of an Israeli singer in the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.
Additionally, on May 8 last year, the Stockholm District Court found Greta Thunberg guilty of public order violations during a protest near the parliament in March 2024.
