The death toll from the school shooting in the Swedish city of Örebro has risen to 11, while the number of injured victims is still being clarified, Swedish police reported on Wednesday.
Earlier, law enforcement authorities had reported around 10 fatalities. According to the latest information, the suspect was among the deceased and acted alone.
The attack took place at the Risbergska campus, an educational center for adults. Authorities state that the perpetrator’s motives remain unknown; however, preliminary findings suggest that the attack was not ideologically motivated.
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson previously called this tragedy the deadliest mass shooting in the country’s history.
