The authorities in Rome have taken strict measures against a 47-year-old Ukrainian citizen who had been attacking people and vehicles in one of the capital’s districts for several months, according to police reports.
The man, nicknamed “Tree Man” and “Nuisance Man” by local media, has been banned from staying in Rome under the threat of immediate arrest. The offender had been detained multiple times. In June last year, dressed in rags, branches, and plastic debris, he attacked a woman and her two-year-old child, threatening to kill them. In July, he damaged several cars and, when confronted by police, lunged at them with a broken bottle. In August, he targeted two women, first hurling insults at them before striking them with a wooden stick.
The man had previously been convicted of crimes including bodily harm, illegal possession of weapons, property damage, and resisting law enforcement. Despite multiple arrests and warnings, he continued to display aggressive behavior and disregard the law.
Now, he will be under special supervision and is prohibited from entering the city limits of Rome, according to the Roman police.
