Orbán: Brussels’ financing of the war in Ukraine leads to the plundering of Europe

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated that the European Union’s support for the war in Ukraine is leading to the plundering of Europe.

Speaking at a meeting of right-wing conservative party leaders in Madrid, he criticized Brussels’ actions, which, in his view, are undermining the economy and exacerbating the migration crisis.

We are pouring our money into Ukraine, into a hopeless war, while Europe is being flooded with illegal immigrants. Brussels has opened its doors to illegal immigration, he said at the event in Madrid, which brought together Europe’s right-wing forces forming the European Parliament faction “Patriots of Europe.”

Orbán emphasized that his government will continue to oppose EU policies, defend traditional values, and resist illegal migration. He also expressed hope for Donald Trump’s return to the White House, seeing it as crucial for strengthening conservative forces in Europe.

The “Patriots of Europe” faction, initiated by Orbán after the European Parliament elections, has united 84 deputies from 12 countries. It has become the third-largest faction, behind only the center-right and social democrats, but does not yet have decisive influence in the EU.
