The American company Figure AI has signed a contract with a major commercial client, whose name has not yet been disclosed. Under the agreement, 100,000 humanoid robots will be produced over the next four years.
One of Figure AI’s first official clients is the automaker BMW, which signed a contract at the end of 2024. The first robots have already begun working at the company’s factories.
Figure AI is developing at a rapid pace. Just 31 months after its founding, the company released its first humanoid robot, Figure 01, and its improved version, Figure 02, is expected to become an excellent household assistant.
The robots are equipped with microphones and speakers for voice communication, and an integrated language model from OpenAI enables them to engage in natural conversations with users.
Figure 02 features a sleek design that combines fabric upholstery with metallic elements. Its structure allows for a wide range of motion, and its manipulators have 16 degrees of freedom.
