The Slovak government has announced plans to audit a key project designed to support Ukrainian refugees. The program, titled “Assistance to Persons from Ukraine in Entry and Integration into the Slovak Republic,” will be reviewed by the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, and Family.
According to a statement from the Press and Information Department of the Slovak government’s office, the review will focus on how funds from the European Regional Development Fund have been allocated and used.
The government office added that no further details on the review process will be shared at this time.
In 2023, the ministry allocated €16.9 million in EU funds to a consortium of nonprofit organizations, which in turn distributed the funds among 110 other nonprofit groups involved in the project.
