The European Commission is launching the InvestAI initiative aimed at attracting 200 billion euros to the development of artificial intelligence.
This was announced by the press service of the European Commission. The initiative was presented by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the summit in Paris.
The InvestAI program includes the creation of a 20-billion-euro fund for the construction of AI giga-factories— infrastructure for training complex artificial intelligence models using powerful chips. Ursula von der Leyen added that this will allow European specialists to develop advanced AI models necessary for transforming Europe into a leading continent in the field of artificial intelligence.
The European Commission will also establish the European AI Research Council to consolidate resources and explore how to leverage untapped data potential to support AI and other technologies. Soon, the “Apply AI” program will be launched to promote the integration of artificial intelligence in key industries.
