U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Kit Kellogg, will visit Poland on Tuesday, February 18, for talks with President Andrzej Duda.
The meeting will take place at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, as announced by Wojciech Kolarski, head of the International Policy Bureau of the Polish president’s office, in an interview with RMF24.
Kolarski noted that President Duda will reiterate his position during the meeting, stating that Russia cannot win the war and unjustifiably invaded an independent country. He added that the U.S. side expressed interest in this discussion.
It is worth mentioning that in Munich, Kellogg briefed European leaders on the new U.S. negotiation strategy, which Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski described as unorthodox and promising. Kellogg also stated that the American stance on peace negotiations involves Ukraine’s participation, but without European representatives.
In this context, an emergency summit of European leaders on the situation in Ukraine will be held in Paris on Monday, February 17.
