On Monday, a Swedish court acquitted three men of charges related to the preparation of a terrorist crime in 2023 and 2024, linked to the Islamic State.
However, the court convicted them, along with a fourth man, of participation in a terrorist organization, specifically the Islamic State in Somalia.
The court’s statement revealed that their participation involved recruiting for the group, spreading propaganda, and providing arms training.
In December, prosecutors accused the three men of intending to kill or injure others, although they did not specify a target for the planned attack. The suspects were reportedly connected to an Islamic organization near Stockholm.
At the time of their arrest, Swedish security police emphasized that the individuals had been detained in order to prevent a potential attack.
