Trump and Putin could meet next week

Bloomberg reports that U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin may hold a meeting as early as next week.

The talks in Riyadh took place without the participation of Ukrainian representatives, while Europe is facing difficulties in responding to the rapidly evolving events.

The discussions followed a phone call between Trump and Putin last week, during which the U.S. revised its position on the conflict. The potential location for the meeting is Saudi Arabia, with final details potentially being agreed upon today.

According to State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, the goal of the talks is to determine how serious Russia is about resolving the conflict and whether their views align with those of the U.S.

The meeting comes amid rising tensions between Washington and Moscow, as well as ongoing discussions about Ukraine’s role in any future peace agreements. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has already stated that Kyiv will not recognize any decisions made without its participation, complicating the negotiation process.
