Possible fragments of Falcon 9 rocket found in Poland

The Polish Space Agency has confirmed that on the morning of February 19, a fragment of the Falcon 9 rocket, owned by Elon Musk’s company SpaceX, was observed burning up over the country.

According to the agency, between 4:46 and 4:48 AM, an uncontrolled atmospheric reentry of a Falcon 9 R/B rocket booster component occurred. This object, weighing approximately 4 tons, was part of the Starlink Group 11-4 mission, which was launched on February 1, 2025, from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

The phenomenon was visible in several regions of Poland, including Masovia, Lower Silesia, and Greater Poland Voivodeship. The object was also seen in the skies over Germany and Denmark.

Preliminary reports suggest that possible rocket debris may have fallen near Poznań. A tank has been found in the area and is currently under the protection of security services. Authorities are investigating whether it belongs to Falcon 9.

SpaceX has not yet commented on the incident.
