Australian man arrested in Switzerland for stabbing attack in Zurich

Swiss police have arrested a 28-year-old Australian citizen on suspicion of carrying out a knife attack on a 41-year-old man in a store in central Zurich.

According to local authorities, citing Reuters, the incident occurred on Saturday, but the motive for the crime remains unknown. The attacker was apprehended at the scene, while the victim was hospitalized. Police declined to disclose details about the identities of those involved, stating that prosecutors might provide more information on Monday.

This incident is part of a troubling series of knife attacks that have taken place across Europe in recent days. On Saturday, an Algerian man was arrested in Mulhouse, France, following a fatal knife attack, while in Berlin, a Syrian refugee was detained for an assault near the Holocaust memorial.

Additionally, on Thursday, a teenager killed two women in a shopping mall in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic, and on Saturday, a Syrian asylum seeker was arrested in southern Austria on suspicion of carrying out a mass stabbing.
