In Slovakia, an explosion occurred during testing of the Zuzana howitzer, resulting in injuries. The incident took place on February 25 at 8 AM at the research military-technical institute in the town of Zagorie.
Preliminary information suggests that the explosion happened inside the Zuzana howitzer, causing a fire in the vehicle. As a result of the explosion, two technicians were injured and hospitalized in Bratislava. According to doctors, their lives are not in danger.
The police confirmed that they received a report of the incident around 9 AM and dispatched patrols and other services to the scene.
Defense Minister Robert Kalinak stated that the incident occurred during test firing. He noted that the cause of the explosion has not yet been determined, and it is currently difficult to say whether it was related to issues with the powder, ammunition, or the system itself.
