A wave of elderly murders has been reported in Warsaw, according to Polish TV channel TVN.
The police have arrested a second suspect in connection with the investigation and have linked the case to a fourth victim, whose body was found a week and a half ago. All the crimes occurred within a span of nine days, and the authorities note that the motives and actions of the perpetrators were similar.
The two arrested individuals are citizens of Poland and Ukraine. All the murders are connected to robberies. The first victim, an 80-year-old woman, was found in the Old Town. She had been strangled, and scratches on her body indicated resistance. Paintings, two laptops, phones, jewelry, and bank cards were stolen from her apartment.
In the second case, the perpetrator tied up a 73-year-old woman and forced her to call a bank to access her account. However, a bank employee became suspicious and called for help. When the police arrived at the scene, the suspect attempted to flee by jumping out of a second-story window.
