The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is considering halting all current shipments of military aid to Ukraine in response to comments made by President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office on Friday and his intransigence in the peace process.
This was reported by a senior administration official to The Washington Post.
If the decision is made, it would affect radars, vehicles, ammunition, and missiles worth billions of dollars that are awaiting shipment to Ukraine through the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA), said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The consideration to halt arms supplies to Ukraine underscores the sharp deterioration in relations between the two countries following the confrontation in the Oval Office between Zelensky, President Donald Trump, and Vice President JD Vance.
The official rejected the notion that the confrontation between Trump and Vance with Zelensky was deliberate, noting that efforts were made to create a more positive tone in planning the meeting, as evidenced by Trump refraining from accusations that Zelensky is a “dictator.”
