U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly ordered a suspension of military aid to Ukraine, including undelivered weapons that had been approved under the Biden administration.
This was reported by Reuters and Voice of America, citing unnamed White House officials.
According to Reuters, Trump “paused” military aid to Ukraine following a dispute with President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House.
“President Trump has been clear that he is focused on achieving peace. We need our partners to be focused on that as well. We are pausing and reviewing aid to ensure it contributes to some form of resolution,” an anonymous official told the publication.
The White House declined to comment on the agency’s request, particularly regarding the duration of the pause and the specific volume and types of weapons affected by the decision.
Voice of America correspondent Ostap Yarysh also confirmed the suspension, citing similar remarks from an administration official.
“The pause in U.S. military aid to Ukraine concerns weapons that have yet to be delivered. Based on earlier announcements by the Biden administration, this primarily includes critical air defense interceptor missiles and artillery ammunition,” Yarysh noted.
Prior to this, unofficial reports suggested that the Trump administration had already stopped funding for the purchase of new weapons for Ukraine and was considering freezing the shipment of arms from U.S. stockpiles.
