Authorities in Warsaw conducted a large-scale raid against gambling halls suspected of operating illegally, uncovering 56 such establishments.
Poland’s National Tax Administration announced the closure of 56 illegal gambling venues and the confiscation of 280 gaming machines following the operation. Additionally, authorities seized over 400,000 złoty (more than 4 million UAH) in cash.
The two-day operation, which took place on February 28 and March 1, involved 250 officers from four provinces. As a result, 45 individuals were charged with organizing illegal gambling activities.
Among those detained was a 17-year-old visitor who attacked a law enforcement officer during the raid. Some individuals present at the establishments were found in possession of drugs, while others were under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.
In Poland, each illegal gambling machine carries a fine of 100,000 złoty (24000 euro), which applies both to the operator of the gambling hall and the owner of the premises where the machines are located.
