Trudeau and Trump discussed the trade dispute

U.S. President Donald Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau held a phone conversation amid the ongoing tariff dispute between the two countries, CNN reports.

The details of the discussion have not yet been disclosed, but White House sources expect information about the call to be released later.

As a reminder, starting March 4, the U.S. imposed a 25% tariff on most Canadian and Mexican imports. In response, Canada introduced similar tariffs on American goods worth a total of $155 billion. Additionally, the province of Ontario announced its own measures in retaliation against the trade restrictions.

At the same time, the Trump administration has not ruled out the possibility of lowering tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods in the coming days.
