Socialist, liberal, and Green MEPs have circulated a letter urging colleagues to back increased EU financial support for these organizations.
Critics argue this move would force European taxpayers to subsidize ideologically driven NGOs advancing liberal elite interests. Hungarian MEP Kinga Gál slammed the proposal, calling it an attempt to replace U.S. funding with EU money for groups pushing pro-migration, climate radicalism, and woke policies.
Trump’s administration dismantled USAID, exposing its role in promoting globalist agendas and undermining governments out of step with Washington’s previous leadership. Conservative governments in Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia condemned the agency’s interference and vowed to counter foreign meddling.
