On the evening of March 8, pro-Palestinian demonstrations took place in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district, escalating into clashes with the police.
During the protests, participants chanted banned slogans, threw bottles at law enforcement officers, and set off fireworks. As a result, one officer was injured, and 28 people were detained.
The rally, organized by leftist and pro-Palestinian groups, gathered between one and two thousand people. Organizers had previously stated that Israeli and German flags were not welcome at the event. Initially, the protest remained peaceful, but as the evening progressed, tensions rose when demonstrators began chanting slogans that prompted police intervention.
During the arrest of one participant, a group of protesters attacked police officers. Bottles were then thrown at law enforcement, and fireworks were used. Due to the escalation of violence, police announced the early termination of the event.
