Russia has reacted to the recent negotiations between Ukraine and the United States in Jeddah, with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova emphasizing that Moscow will determine its stance without external influence.
Zakharova highlighted that the most significant updates would come directly from Moscow, asserting that developments there should take precedence over discussions in Saudi Arabia.
“The formation of Russia’s position does not take place abroad through some agreements or the efforts of certain parties. Russia’s position is formed within Russia,” she said.
Following the meeting in Jeddah on March 11, Ukraine announced its willingness to implement an immediate 30-day ceasefire, provided Russia agrees to the same conditions. President Volodymyr Zelensky clarified that the ceasefire would cover “not only to missiles, drones, and bombs, not only in the Black Sea, but also along the entire front line.”
Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington would relay Ukraine’s proposal to Russia and expressed hope for a positive response.
