Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk is traveling to Turkey for a two-day visit, where he will hold talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Before his departure, Tusk highlighted that their discussions would cover critical issues, including Ukraine and European security. He emphasized that Ukraine’s situation is of “primary importance” to Poland’s interests and national security.
Tusk stated, “From our point of view, it is very important that NATO countries and European countries simultaneously ensure stability after the ceasefire and peace on the Russia-Ukraine border. And Turkey’s role here could be decisive.”
He also noted that the talks would focus on the roles Poland and Turkey could play in stabilizing the region, the outcome of recent negotiations between Ukrainian and U.S. delegations in Saudi Arabia, and the potential involvement of both countries in ensuring long-term peace, particularly along the Russia-Ukraine border.
