Republican Senator Jim Banks has stated that J.D. Vance, the current vice president, is one of the most likely Republican candidates for the 2028 U.S. presidential election.
According to Banks, Vance has established himself as a leader of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement and could become Donald Trump’s successor.
At this point, it is almost inevitable that Vance will be the Republican Party’s candidate in 2028. He is the future of MAGA, — Banks said in an interview with Axios.
Party insiders note that Vance maintains close ties with Donald Trump Jr., who, according to some reports, played a key role in securing his vice-presidential nomination.
A former senator from Ohio, Vance assumed the role of vice president in January 2023. His speeches at the Munich Conference and critical remarks about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have been well received among Republicans. Some Trump supporters are already referring to Vance as a potential 48th President of the United States.
