Trump has given Iran two months for a new ‘nuclear deal’

U.S. President Donald Trump has sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, demanding a new agreement on the country’s nuclear program within two months. This was reported by Axios, citing its sources.

According to their information, Trump’s message was firm and included not only an offer for negotiations but also possible consequences if Tehran refuses. Sources also noted that the two-month deadline remains unclear—whether it refers to the time from when the letter was received or from the start of negotiations. Additionally, the U.S. has informed key allies about the contents of the letter, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Despite Iran’s public statements that it has no intention of developing nuclear weapons, the country possesses uranium enriched to 60%, which, if further enriched to 90%, would be sufficient to produce six nuclear warheads.

Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Trump’s letter is under review and that Tehran is preparing an official response.
