The Romanian government has extended humanitarian assistance for vulnerable Ukrainian refugees until December 31, 2025.
During a meeting on March 20, officials approved a regulation ensuring continued support for foreign citizens and stateless individuals fleeing the conflict in Ukraine. The aid applies to those who entered Romania before July 1, 2024, and are residing in refugee centers. Eligible individuals will receive 500 lei ($109) per month, while families will be granted 1,500 lei ($327) monthly.
Additional assistance will be available for people with disabilities, individuals with temporary incapacities, pregnant women in their third trimester, and other vulnerable groups, as reported by Agerpres.
A separate government decree outlines a one-time allowance for Ukrainian refugees who arrived and secured residence permits before July 1, 2024. This financial aid will be provided for three consecutive months at a rate of 750 lei per person and 2,000 lei per family each month.
