U.S. and Ukraine set to finalize critical minerals agreement, says Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States and Ukraine will “soon” sign an agreement focused on critical mineral resources.

Trump revealed that he had issued an executive order aimed at “significantly increasing” the extraction of critical minerals and rare earth metals.

“This is very important for our country, and as you know, we are also signing agreements in various places to unlock the extraction of rare earth elements, minerals, and many other resources around the world, particularly in Ukraine,” he shared.

He noted that Washington is making significant progress in its dealings with both Ukraine and Russia. Among these efforts is the upcoming agreement with Ukraine on rare earth minerals, which is expected to be finalized “very soon.”

“[Ukraine] is of great importance in the rare earth sector, and we appreciate that,” Trump emphasized.

Trump also reiterated his belief that the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine could be resolved.
