‘Beyond the realm of the conceivable’: what happens at sheikhs’ VIP parties in Dubai

Dubai, famous for its luxurious hotels and night parties, hides a dark side behind the walls of VIP clubs and exclusive events, where women fall prey to the cruel escort industry. Stories of how women are lured into escorting and what happens behind closed doors are becoming increasingly disturbing.

Maria Kovalchuk, a 23-year-old Ukrainian, arrived in Dubai with a friend in mid-February, planning to “party at a model event.” But things went wrong when she met two men who introduced themselves as “influential people from the modeling industry.” Two days later, Maria disappeared, and eight days later, she was found on the side of the road with severe injuries. One theory is that she was thrown from a balcony.

Meanwhile, in the world of escorting, women often receive tempting job offers with promises of substantial earnings—at least $1000 a day. However, the “easy side job” at such parties hides horrific consequences. Many women become victims of violence, manipulation, and threats. Some sheikhs demand extravagant services for large sums of money, and behind closed doors, debauchery and cruel practices prevail.

Special attention is drawn to the so-called Porta Potty parties, where participants engage in highly perverse activities. These events, organized for wealthy and influential people, are increasingly becoming the subject of discussion on social media. Stories of sexual violence, humiliation, and even deaths of participants, like the tragic death of model Monica Karungi in 2022, raise alarm.

Dubai continues to attract tourists with its “glamorous” side, but behind the facade of luxury lies a world where harsh anti-prostitution laws and Sharia law, combined with ruthless exploitation, offer little peace to foreign women trapped in this nightmare.
