The European Parliament has once again been rocked by a massive corruption scandal, this time linked to the Chinese tech giant Huawei. Following an investigation that began two years ago with a tip-off from Belgian intelligence, authorities recently conducted raids on Huawei EU offices in Brussels, as well as the homes of Huawei lobbyists across Belgium and Portugal. The charges? Bribery, forgery, money laundering, and criminal organization. This should be a wake-up call to every European citizen: the EU’s main political forces, the European People’s Party (EPP), the Socialists & Democrats (S&D), and Renew Europe, are rotten to the core and unfit to govern.
This isn’t just about Huawei. This is about an EU leadership class that has demonstrated, time and again, that it is willing to sell out European interests for personal and political gain. These parties, which control the European Parliament, have consistently played into the hands of foreign actors—whether it’s China’s Huawei, Russia’s influence operations, or the Qatar Gate scandal. The people of Europe deserve leaders who will put their interests first, not political elites who are more than happy to trade security and sovereignty for personal enrichment.
Huawei’s Deep Tentacles in the EU
This latest scandal is especially egregious because of what Huawei represents. The company has well-documented ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the People’s Liberation Army. The United States has banned Huawei from selling certain communications equipment due to national security concerns, and the Pentagon has identified it as a CCP-controlled entity. And yet, European leaders not only allowed Huawei to expand its influence but actively enabled its penetration into critical infrastructure, such as Europe’s 5G networks.
French President Emmanuel Macron, for example, refused to outright block Huawei, instead choosing a vague policy of not wanting to “stigmatize any firm or country.” Coincidentally, Huawei began constructing its first European factory in France shortly after, conveniently near the European Parliament’s headquarters in Strasbourg. This reeks of backroom deals and political favoritism at the expense of European security.
The EPP, S&D, and Renew: The Corrupt Establishment
This scandal is not an isolated incident. In recent years, the European Parliament has been plagued by corruption cases:
- Qatar Gate: Several EU Parliament members were found to have accepted bribes in exchange for political favors benefiting Qatar, Morocco, and Mauritania.
The pattern is clear: corruption is rampant in Brussels, and it is enabled by the same establishment parties that claim to represent European values. It is no longer a matter of a “few bad apples”—the entire tree is rotten.
Europe Needs a Change in Leadership
Europe’s future is at stake. The establishment parties have proven time and again that they cannot be trusted to protect European sovereignty and security. They are compromised, weak, and more concerned with maintaining their grip on power than standing up to foreign threats.
The solution? A new generation of leadership from right-wing, sovereignist parties that put European interests first. The Europe for Sovereign Nations group and Patriots for Europe offer a viable alternative to the corrupt establishment. These parties recognize the need for strong borders, economic nationalism, and a firm stance against foreign meddling, whether from China, Russia, or Qatar.
Brussels’ elite have had their chance, and they have failed. The time has come for a political revolution in Europe—one that replaces the globalist puppets with leaders who will truly stand up for the people. If Europe does not change course, it risks becoming a vassal state of Beijing, Moscow, or any other power willing to pay the right price for political influence. The EU’s credibility is on the line, and only bold, decisive action can save it.
