A blast occurred at an ammunition depot in the Czech Republic, resulting in one person being seriously injured. The explosion took place on Tuesday, March 25, at the Poličské strojírny complex in the village of Boržiny, located in central Czech Republic.
According to the emergency services spokesperson, following the explosion, the area was evacuated. One individual sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the hospital. Eleven fire brigades are currently working at the site.
While there is no immediate danger to local residents, several nearby roads have been closed for safety reasons.
The Poličské strojírny facility, where the explosion took place, is owned by the STV Invest holding, which rents part of the premises. The STV group factory in Polička not only stores but also manufactures large-caliber ammunition, some of which is used in Ukraine. The facility also handles military vehicle repairs and supplies spare parts.
