Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet in Jerusalem on Sunday, March 30, according to two Greek sources who spoke to Reuters on Wednesday, March 26.
One of the sources mentioned that the agenda for the discussions is expected to be broad, with leaders likely to touch on topics such as the ongoing war, foreign policy, and bilateral matters. A notable item on the agenda could be a project for an underwater power cable that will connect continental Europe with the Eastern Mediterranean.
The last meeting between officials from both countries took place in Israel in 2023.
It is worth recalling that in November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for “war crimes and crimes against humanity” in Gaza.
In early February, U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing sanctions against the ICC, with the primary reason being the arrest warrant against senior Israeli officials.
