A massive fire at a car dealership on the eastern outskirts of Rome destroyed 17 Tesla vehicles on Monday night, according to the Italian news agency Adnkronos, citing the fire department.
According to Corriere della Sera, nine cars were completely burned, while another 15 were damaged. Both firefighters and law enforcement officers are working at the scene. Investigators are considering all possible causes, including deliberate arson. As part of the investigation, specialists will review surveillance footage and interview the dealership owners.
This incident comes amid other attacks related to the Tesla brand. Last week, unknown individuals set fire to 12 Tesla charging stations in a supermarket parking lot in France. According to Agence France-Presse, a message calling for a campaign against the company was found near the site. The police have launched an investigation, but no arrests have been made so far.
Additionally, reports have emerged about a series of attacks on Tesla dealerships, vehicles, and charging stations in the United States. According to law enforcement agencies, 48 such incidents have been recorded. The attacks have been linked to Tesla owner Elon Musk’s involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an initiative launched by Donald Trump’s administration to reduce wasteful spending and combat fraud in the federal government.
