Elon Musk’s company, Neuralink, intends to implant the new Blindsight device in a human for the first time at the end of 2025. The device is designed to restore vision to completely blind individuals, the post stated, which Musk highlighted.
It is noted that Musk made this announcement during a conference in Wisconsin on Sunday. The post also included an image of the implant.
Previously, in September 2024, Musk stated that Neuralink’s technology could even help those who were born blind. In the future, the device will be capable of perceiving not only the visible spectrum but also infrared and ultraviolet waves, as well as detecting radar signals. Initially, the image quality will be comparable to the graphics of old gaming platforms like Atari, but it is expected to improve significantly over time.
