U.S. and Denmark to hold first talks since Trump’s victory

This week, the United States and Denmark will hold their first high-level talks following Donald Trump’s election victory and his statements about possible claims to Greenland, Financial Times reports, citing sources.

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen plans to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the NATO summit, which begins on Thursday in Brussels. However, the meeting may be canceled due to ongoing tensions between the two countries. At present, official contacts between Copenhagen and Washington remain minimal.

Earlier, Greenland’s new prime minister stated that Trump would not get the island, emphasizing that the issue of selling the territory is not even under consideration.
