Hunter Biden has been disbarred from practicing law in Washington, D.C.

Hunter Biden, the son of the former U.S. president, will permanently lose his right to practice law in Washington, D.C., The New York Post reports, citing documents filed by Biden in the D.C. Court of Appeals.

According to the publication, Biden agreed to the recommendation of a disciplinary agency, which will result in his permanent disbarment in the U.S. capital. In his filing with the D.C. Court of Appeals, he stated his “consent to disbarment.”

Before the decision takes effect, it must be approved by the court, following the recommendation of the disciplinary board.

Hunter Biden graduated from Yale Law School in 1996 and was admitted to the D.C. Bar in 2007. However, in June 2024, he was temporarily suspended from practicing law after a jury verdict in Delaware. The court found him guilty of violations related to the purchase and possession of a firearm.
