Georgia has reduced the visa-free stay for Ukrainian refugees, cutting the period from three years to one year.
On Thursday, April 3, it was officially announced that Ukrainian citizens can now enter and remain in Georgia for up to one year without a visa.
“Ukrainian citizens have the right to enter Georgia without a visa and stay in the country for one full year,” a government document confirmed.
For Ukrainians who entered Georgia before February 24, 2025, their stay will be extended until February 24, 2026. Earlier, in February 2023, Georgian authorities had allowed Ukrainians to stay for two years without a visa. This period was extended to three years in April 2024 before the recent reduction.
