The administration of Donald Trump is planning to hold a military parade through the streets of Washington, D.C., on June 14 to mark the 79th birthday of the U.S. President.
This was reported by The Hill.
Planning for the military parade in the U.S. capital began last year and is also tied to the 250th anniversary of the American Army.
U.S. Army spokesperson Dave Butler told The Hill that they are working with the White House and several government agencies “to make the celebration a national-level event.” According to some media reports, the military column could stretch nearly six kilometers—from the Pentagon building to the White House.
During his first term, Trump ordered the Pentagon to plan a large-scale military parade after attending Bastille Day celebrations in Paris, which left a strong impression on him.
