Hungary believes that at this moment, only initiatives aimed at achieving peace should be supported. This was stated by Hungary’s Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó on his Facebook page.
He noted that today, a meeting of EU foreign ministers will take place in Luxembourg. However, in his opinion, “nothing else should be done except supporting efforts to achieve peace.”
The minister emphasized that every day brings new evidence that peace is needed as soon as possible. “And for peace, we need a ceasefire and successful peace negotiations,” he added.
As reported, on April 14, during the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg, EU foreign ministers will discuss security guarantees for Ukraine. Among the topics to be addressed are the “Coalition of the Determined” initiative regarding the possible deployment of a monitoring mission in Ukraine, as well as the preparation of the 17th sanctions package against Russia and other pressure measures.
