On the morning of April 19, residents of the Belgian city of Liège discovered dozens of pocket-sized Qurans placed on the windshields of parked cars across several neighborhoods, according to broadcaster RTBF.
The holy books were in French. Police were called to the scene, collected the copies for examination, and began reviewing surveillance footage to identify those responsible for the act.
At this time, it remains unclear whether the distribution was intended as a missionary gesture or as a provocation—especially in light of the upcoming Catholic holiday, Easter.
Liège police continue to investigate the incident and are urging residents to report any information that may help identify those behind the action.
